Scribbles! Overview

Scribbles! Pediatric Occupational Therapy:

provides a holistic and interdisciplinary model of care for children from infancy through elementary school.  Scribbles! occupational therapy believes in the team approach to assist children and support their families in improving their child’s level of independence in their “occupations”.  Scribbles! Occupational Therapy provides a safe, nurturing, and fun environment to provide traditional individual occupational therapy and group therapy services in a fun innovative ways.

Scribbles Occupational Therapy Services Evaluations:  A full report is completed.  Each evaluation may include a collaboration of standardized testing, clinical observations, family interviews and data from other professionals.  A one hour consultation is included to discuss results and recommendations.

Treatment Plans:  Individualized treatment plans are designed from the results of evaluations and are agreed upon by the therapist and family. Individual & Group Therapy:  Scribbles! uses many occupational therapy methods & modalities to help children reach their therapy goals. This includes but is not limited to sensory integration, and sensory processing, fine motor, visual motor & visual perceptual and behavioral theories and modalities.

Scribbles! offers the following Group Therapy Programs:

  • Tummy Time
  • Sensory Regulation and Social Skills
  • Handwriting Programs – Pre- writing skills through Cursive and Keyboarding

Home Intervention:  Scribbles! believes in the importance of providing all children with structure, organization and routines for developmental success at home and school.  Rebecca is able to help families provide these skills by providing parent & caregiver education, assisting in designing sensory spaces, schedules, organization, and child responsibilities for home and school.  This may include, but is not limited to adapting the environment, providing accommodations, designing sensory diets and therapeutic play activities for home and school. 

Parent/Teacher Workshops:  This includes parent, family, and teacher education.  Workshop topics can include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Understanding Developmental Motor Milestones
  • Helping Your Baby Reach their Motor Milestones through Play and Positioning
  • Sensory Processing Disorder
  • How to Identify and Help Children with Regulation Difficulties at Home and in the Classroom
  • Understanding Fine Motor Development
  • Fine Motor
  • Handwriting Skills (& Pre-writing) through play

Preschools:  Rebecca is available to assist preschools with adapting the classroom environment, providing enrichment programs and lecture on a variety of pediatric sensory and motor topics.  Preschool administrators have found this helpful to provide their staff with an opportunity to collect credits for licensure. 

Consultations:  Scribbles! can assist families with IEP and 504 plans.
